FAQs
A group is a gathering made up of 10-16 people who meet weekly to share, study and support one another. A trained leader and host lead each group.
Our groups meet for 8-10 week quarters in the Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Before each group quarter begins, there are three ways to sign up for a group – online, at our weekend services, or by calling the church office. During the weekend services, group team members and pastors are available at the next steps areas to help you choose a group and answer any questions.

- Our Small Groups are designed to help you grow in faith and community through sermon-based discussions that connect real life with God’s Word.
- Each group listing includes a short bio to help you get a feel for the leaders and community dynamic. Our Small Groups are arranged by group type to help you find the best fit. Keep in mind, you may fit into more than one kind of group—so take a look at all the options that may apply to you. To learn more about each group type, check out our page on Finding a Group
Most groups meet on various nights of the week in homes throughout the Coachella Valley and beyond.
We offer both on-campus and off-campus options to fit your schedule and preference:
On-Campus Groups
Join a group that meets right here at the church. Options include Rooted, Men’s Bible Study, Women’s Bible Study, Men’s Growing Healthy, Men’s Growing Strong, and WS Moms Ministry. These groups provide a consistent place to connect, study Scripture, and build lasting friendships.
Off-Campus Groups
Meet in homes, coffee shops, or other local spaces throughout the community. These groups offer a relaxed setting to discuss the weekend message, share life, and pray together.
We have two different meeting types for groups:
Online Only: These groups meet exclusively online.
In-Person: These groups meet in person.
Each group session lasts 8-10 weeks. We have Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions. At the end of each session, you can choose to stay in the same group, try a new group, or take a break. Most groups stay together throughout the year.

Most groups discuss the previous weekend’s message. These “sermon-based” groups are built on what we call a “Lecture-Lab” model. Imagine the weekend message as a lecture on Christian living, and the Small Group as a lab where you get to roll up your sleeves and discuss how the weekend’s message works in real life. Each week, you can download our discussion questions from our website.
Groups are designed for adults. (Exceptions can be made for nursing newborns up to six months.) We leave it up to each family to work out their own childcare. Sometimes it works best for families to share a sitter or to swap childcare with another family whose group meets on a different evening.
We also offer on-campus Kids Ministry options to help make group participation easier for families. Childcare is available Tuesday mornings for kids up to 5 years old and Tuesday evenings for kids newborn through 5th grade.
On Tuesday nights, Kindergarten through 5th graders can take part in Tuesday Night Kids, a program where children dive deeper into the Bible and connect in their own small groups while parents attend theirs.
You can learn more and register your kids for Tuesday Night Kids at thewellspring.church/events
Yes! At Wellspring, both our Middle School and High School ministries offer small groups designed just for students. These groups meet on Wednesdays from 6:30–8:30 PM during the school year and are a key part of helping students grow in their faith, build lasting friendships, and have fun together.
Although student groups are not listed in this publication, they are a vital part of life at Wellspring. To learn more or sign up for a Middle School or High School group, visit thewellspring.church/students.
